Hello. I’m a long established wedding, food and travel photographer and teacher of photography.
Friendly, approachable and professional, I have many years of experience in wedding, travel, food and commercial photography. Not only in the UK, past commissions have included France, Spain, Italy & the USA.
I’m always keen to hear of interesting commissions and challenges. And weddings – photographing weddings is such a joy!

We got married in July and chose John as our photographer. He was absolutely fantastic at putting us at ease and he was brilliant with our guests, getting some incredible shots. He put in so much love and care into our day and he got so many photos that we are absolutely thrilled with that we will treasure forever.
We were thrilled to have John as our photographer for our wedding last June. I had initially worried that taking photos might feel like a chore, but John turned it into one of the most enjoyable parts of the day. His warmth and professionalism put everyone at ease, and he was incredibly kind to our guests. The photos beautifully captured not just the people, but also the stunning Peak District backdrop. I wholeheartedly recommend John to anyone looking for a photographer who brings both talent and genuine care to your special day.
I Was over the Moon To Go on a Photography Course with John Would Recommend John to anyone, he was absolutely brilliant at Teaching me to get better with my camera and walked me through all the settings on it he was very patient and understanding with me, I really enjoyed the part we stopped and snapped a few shots of the ducklings on the water and I will forever be grateful towards John for the best photography experience anyone could ask for ,my photos are much more clearer and better quality ever since going on this photography course john is very down to earth, and very understanding. Brilliant day learning new photography skills, really enjoyed it, would recommend to anyone either starting photography or wanting to improve understanding of your camera.
I got a day’s photography course as a gift for my husband and son, they had a brilliant day , learnt alot and took some really great photos, excellent tuition from John.
I first met John at a friends’ wedding. I was really impressed at his skill & professionalism but mainly by his amazing people skills. After a good conversation about photography I decided to book a course with him.
I was not disappointed. In the morning we covered a lot of technical stuff about the use of a camera and how to control the light.
In the afternoon we went out to Longshaw with our cameras and had a brilliant couple of hours taking pictures. I learned so much! More importantly, my enthusiasm’s been fired and I am getting enormous pleasure from this fascinating hobby
